On the evening of March 13, 2025, Marcelle (Jacques) Cousineau passed away peacefully in her home in Cumberland RI, surrounded by her family, just 7 hours shy of her 92nd birthday.

Marcelle was born in Montreal Canada to Mendoza and Simone Jacques on March 14,1933. She married Jean Claude Cousineau on June 23, 1951, and they had seven children. They migrated to the United States in 1959 and finally settled in Rhode Island.

Marcelle’s faith was very important to her and she was endeared by many who met her. She loved to sing and was a part of many church choirs over the years. In her later years, she spent her days watching EWTN, watching daily Mass and constantly praying for her family and friends.

Marcelle is survived by her seven children: Danielle Dunn of AustinTX, Jacques Cousineau of Fort Walton Beach, FL, Denis Cousineau of Columbus, GA, Diane Arsenault of West Warwick, RI, Lynn Cousineau of Cranston. RI, Lise McParlin of Cumberland, RI and Carole Cousineau-Reyes of Fitzwilliam. NH. She is also survived by her seventeen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10am on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at St John Vianney Catholic Church, 3587 Diamond Hill Rd, Cumberland RI. In the month of May, a memorial service and a Christian burial will be held in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada.
